WIlliams announced that Felipe Massa replace Pastor Maldonado next season the side Valtteri extending for one year.
“Williams is one of the teams that has been most successful in the history of F1,” said Massa. “When I was a boy, I always dreamed of running for Williams, McLaren and Ferrari for I am happy to sign with another icon of motorsport having spent part of my career with Ferrari.”
Massa was fired after eight seasons out of the Scuderia. He will be replaced by Kimi Raikkonen. In 2008, the Brazilian driver finished second in the World Championship, his best result at Ferrari.
“With major changes in the regulations in 2014, I hope that my experience will be useful to the team that hopes to turn out of a difficult period,” Massa continued. “Since I started running, I have no recollection of such radical changes from one season to the next. I am totally prepared to work with everyone in Grove, for sure we are going in the right direction. I am highly motivated to start working hard from the beginning to this new challenge in my career. “
For the Finn Bottas, this will be the second season at the wheel of the Williams team he joined in 2010 as a test pilot after impressive performances in other series cars. “I am very happy to stay in this team,” he said. “I know everyone here now for several years. I have the feeling of being home. I still have faith in Williams and I know that we will do much better in the future with respect to our current performance.”
