Berlin – The former British boxer Lennox Lewis is ready to step back into the ring to face one of the Klitschko brothers against historical scholarship of around € 75 million, described as “absurd” by the proposal camp of world heavyweight champions.
It’s my money and we are in discussion, told the Daily Mail the heavyweight 48 years who has not fought since 2004. I told the developers that I can be ready in six months.”
While attending the last weekend in Moscow to fight Ukrainian Wladimir Klitschko to retain its global belts against Alexander Povetkin, Lewis would have been offered, he said, a grant of 37.5 ME for such a fight.
“I said in the past that he would spend so much so that I removed my pajamas, but now we must also consider that I withdrew being world champion and it costs 75 ME,” said the boxer.
“This is absurd, it is only nonsense,” said Bernd Bonte, the German manager of the Ukrainian brothers, the German agency SID, noting that “this is not the first time he (Lewis) proposes for such a sum. “
“I saw him in Moscow, it is not sharpened and even belly,” said Bonte about the former undisputed king of the premier class.
The Klitschko brothers Vitaly and Wladimir, currently hold the majority of global belts in trucks but they vowed never to face each other.
If Lennox Lewis, multiple world champion and Olympic champion in 1988 with Canada, won this battle, he would dethrone George Foreman again become world champion at age 48 in 1994 after beating Michael Moorer.
A year before retiring, the English had beaten Vitaly Klitschko in Los Angeles during a controversial victory as the referee announced the end of the fight because of the abundant injury the eldest of the siblings.
“I beat Vitaly so I’d rather face the other brother, but we’ll see,” said Lewis still then retracted a few hours later on twitter.
“It was a hypothetical answer to a question that was as much and it is therefore not in a reality # NoComeback (no return), Lewis has responded to his account. Remonterais I’m not in the ring but I expect the emergence of a new talent. “
Vitaly has the WBC belt while his younger, 37, reigns supreme for the WBA, IBF, WBO and IBO.
Lewis has won him 41 of his 44 fights in the pros for two defeats and a draw.
